Steps in Applying for membership
This is easy but we offer the following advice
-
Check that you meet the entry criteria for Freemasonry which is that you must be male, over 21 (or 18 in specific circumstances) and of good repute
-
Find out as much as you can about the suitability of freemasonry for you. For this, you will find it easier to use the contact form below each page so that a member can talk to you
-
This will lead to casual meetings with member(s) so that you can get to know us
-
Ensure that you are able to attend as much as possible on Monday evenings (Sept to June)
-
From this, we can identify a proposer and seconder (need not be members but must be Freemasons) so that a formal application can be made which is considered at the next meeting of the lodge
-
Attend an interview which has 3-4 members
-
You will be formally proposed and balloted for in successive meetings of the lodge. You will not be present but the Secretary will keep you informed
-
You will then attend your initiation into the lodge. All masons remember this.
-
You are now on the way to becoming a Master mason (which includes two more ceremonies)
We look forward to you joining us in the lodge and beginning your intriguing masonic career
